2015 Livermore Show – Premier Miniature Ribbon

Harold Koopowitz and Marilynn Howe entered their collection of 24 stems of miniature seedlings and three named cultivars too.

There are some really spectacular blooms here and at least four stems were selected to be considered for individual awards.

The bloom I liked the best was the 2 YWW-W reverse bi-color.  There were many subtle color variations  for example the 8 W/Y-W which had a hint of yellow on the edge of the perianth.

I also note that some of these which Harold called division 2 could be considered division 1 trumpets.

Unfortunately I had to photograph these later in the day and in place so the brightness of the location was darker than usual and also varied as people walked by and the sun got lower.

  1. Thank you Ben. A great job. Pity a few had started to collapse but then some had been held in the fridge for a long time.

  2. Ben,

You did a fine job of photographing individually the stunning little blooms that comprised the Premier Collection. Each bloom was remarkable, but together they were synergistic! The collection was eye-stopping.

    Kudos to Harold and Marilynn.

  3. It was definitely worth the trip from Virginia to California to see Harold’s and Marilynn’s amazing miniatures plus Bob Spotts’ fantastic seedlings.

  4. Most of us would die to have even half of this amazing collection; congrats Harold and Marilynn for bringing them to us.

  5. Some really nice miniatures, Harold and Marilynn. SO MUCH COLOR. Congratulations !

Ben, great job of photographing the blooms.

  6. Wow! What an array of colors and forms.  You two, Bob, and Steve are doing great work out there on the West coast.

Ben, great job on the photos.
