2016 Saint Louis Show – Miniature Awards

I previously posted the awards for standards. Here now are the results for miniatures.

Miniature Gold Ribbon and Miniature Rose Ribbon

Miniature Gold Ribbon and Miniature Rose Ribbon

The Miniature Gold Ribbon is for the best miniature in the show excluding the Container and Challenge Sections. The Miniature Rose Ribbon is for the best miniature seedling exhibited by its originator, excluding the Container and Challenge Sections. The winner of both ribbons was 09-39-2 3W-Y (SNR poet x N. rupicola ssp. watieri) exhibited by Larry Force.

The Miniature White Ribbon is for the best set of three miniatures. The winner was ‘Shaw’s Gift’ 9W-GYR exhibited by Larry Force.

Miniature Container-Grown Ribbon

The best miniature grown and shown in a container was ‘Hawera’ 5Y-Y exhibited by Ray Rogers.

Lavender Ribbon

Lavender Ribbon

The Lavender Ribbon is for the best collection of five miniature daffodils excluding the collection of five American-bred miniatures. Convention chairperson Lynn Slackman exhibited the winning collection. The flowers are:
‘Tiny Bubbles’ 12Y-Y, ‘Quince’ 12Y-Y, ‘Minnow’ 8W-Y, ‘Fairy Chimes’ 5Y-Y, ‘Itsy Bitsy Splitsy’ 11aY-O.

The Bankhead Ribbon is for the best collection of nine miniatures from at least three different RHS divisions. The winning collection was exhibited by Terry Braithwaite. The flowers are:

There are three classes for miniatures hybridized and originated by the exhibitor. There are classes for three, six, and twelve miniatures. Larry Force exhibited in and won all three of these classes. The flowers in the class for three are:

And this concludes my postings of the ADS award winners at 2016 World Daffodil Convention daffodil show. There were no entries and hence no ADS awards in the classes for three stems of one miniature seedling by its originator (Larus Trophy), three stems in the Youth Section, Youth Collection of Five, three stems each of nine division three standards (Mains Trophy), Five American-bred miniatures (Miniature Red-White-Blue Ribbon), and twelve miniatures from at least three RHS divisions (Watrous Award).

  1. Kirby, thanks for posting all your great photos from the Convention.  For those who don’t know, Kirby was also show chairman, so he really had a busy weekend.  Thanks again, Kirby!
