47 states? Which one is missing?

Enjoying the new ADS website format, which is delightful–love those changing photographs!–a sentence struck me:  The American Daffodil Society has members in 47 states.

Which ONE is missing? I would assume that Alaska and Hawaii  are not included, though maybe they are, especially Alaska? I’d guess the Mountain West area of our country?

I would not have been surprised at a statement such as “43 states” but just one??

A question, and a challenge???  Is it in your region?

  1. Hi Loyce,

I would guess that the states of Hawaii, Nevada, and Colorado would be missing from the ADS membership.   Perhaps Phyllis, our Executive Director, could offer some assistance. :-)

  2. Then perhaps someone from the Pacific Region can check their lists for Nevada and Colorado. Surely no one in Hawaii (but why not???)  I think Bob Spotts once documented with pictures daffodils growing in Alaska.

  3. I researched the states and found we do not have members in : Alaska, Rhode Island; South Dakota; Utah; and Wisconsin.

So we need to change that to we are in 45 states. I guess the person who used to be in Utah is no longer a member. I was surprised no one in Wisconsin or Rhode Island..

  4. Loyce,

NCDS has two members in Nevada, but I doubt either is a member of ADS.  We have no one in Colorado.

  5. For some strange reason the RI garden; and Utah garden did not show in my search and we do have members in WI which also did not show; Obviously I did something wrong. So it is Alaska and South Dakota.  Thanks to Nancy and Mike B for setting me straight.
