Some of the flowers in the Canberra show will warm hearts elsewhere. One of the sensations was a superb smooth specimen of Mesa Verde shown by Chris Ryan.
Graham showed some pictures of some of my splits. Champion div.11 was a seedling from Bill Bender’s 90/221, Grapillon x Pops Legacy, crossed with my 01_76 (Moomba x Redlands Too)
With the benefit of sunlight, albeit a bit tired after the show, the others were:-
Menehay x (Redlands Too x Impeccable)
Flash Affair x (Mondragon x Redlands Too)
Hijack x [(Ice Follies x Cheer Leader) x Mondragon)]
Grand Champion was a faultless Davis seedling 25_08 shown by John Woodfield.
Champion Div.3 was Alibi shown by Sheldrick/Ryan
Keira bulbs showed a lot of interesting new things. I particularly like the advances in the triandrus hybrids.
A very nice intermediate: –
Some pink miniatures were shown but I think this is from the intermediate section.
Champion miniature was a Keira 1Y-Y.
Thanks for the photos Lawrence.
We missed the show as Dad and I traveled down to Leongatha for the Australian championships.
Good to see some of the flowers I missed – love the splits
25-08 is a very consistent and vigorous thing that we probably underrated to start with as it was not what we were looking for from the cross – it was meant to be a split. John picked it out in the patch at last years visit – there were 20 or so of it flower that day. We also showed it in the winning championship in Leongatha
