Blizzard of 2017

I’ve lived on the east coast of the United States for the majority of my live all the way from the Boston area to Georgia.  This storm that hit us on Saturday, January 7, 2017 was the first time in my memory that was called a Blizzard by the U.S. Weather service.  We lucked out on the snow and hardly got 1/4 inch as it went to the north of us here in Harbinger, NC.  Our friends to the north, say Norfolk, VA, as not so lucky.  In addition the cold behind the Blizzard is really harsh, down to about 12 “f” here and everything is frozen solid.  I have some tender tazetta’s out there that are getting a snout full.  I have a N. cypri that I plant 5 years ago.  It’s still alive but has not bloomed since it’s planting.  Always a cold snap just as it is getting ready.   Well. . .that’s life of a daffodil grower.
