Blooming today

I was surprised to see this little N. graellsii blooming when I returned after visiting family for Christmas.  It’s one of the smallest bulbocodiums.  I didn’t realize the buds were that far along.  There are two more buds coming.    This is the first year for them here.  The foliage is much taller than in the wild, presumably because the fluorescent lights aren’t strong enough (or are too far above the plants).  It blooms in March in the wild, so it’s not really winter-blooming.   Little surprises are nice to have.  :-)
