2016 World Daffodil Convention

Many daffodil enthusiasts from around the world have shared their photos on Daffnet.org, Facebook, and other social media. Consider exhibiting those photos of daffodils at the 2016 World Daffodil Convention!

Teri Carter and Pam Hardy have assembled some exceptional classes for the Photography Division at the Daffodil Show.

Saint Louis is the ‘Gateway to the West’ and the home of the ‘Gateway Arch’. A new photography class has been created for the photography division named ‘Daffodils through the Gateway’. We want to encourage photographers to celebrate daffodils via a gateway, entrance, or arch. Have fun with this…what about daffodils with the golden arches of McDonald’s. :-)

Hope we see you at the 2016 World Daffodil Convention!

  1. Lynn I wrote to you about mine and Rogers payment for the convention and I am still waiting for a reply.

We know then total cost as it is quoted on website but we do not know what our cost will be as you have President offered to pay something towards my expenses as one of your speakers, I do not want to pay out the amount required for the convention and then for it to be  given  back in Dollars when we get there. Our flights and Hotel are booked and this is all we need to know at the moment although we are intending to bring flowers and what arrangements have been made with the Hotel about buckets of water to put the flowers in, as we will be arriving on Monday evening 4th April

    Looking forward to your response

  2. Bill and Pam, I was so glad to see this. But do you specific advice for overseas convention attendees about bringing their photographs? Is there somewhere they can find the allowable sizes and instructions for matting?
I am thinking there might even be people who are not coming, but could send a few along with a traveling friend.
I would not recommend mailing pictures to you two, because I remember the great disappointment at the Columbus convention when a large packet of photographs from California were lost, never to be seen again.

  3. For the full rules for the photography division please go to :

    http://www.stldaffodilclub.org/wdc2016/show.html

and look under “2016 Photography Show Schedule”. Briefly, photographs should be mounted on lightweight stiff card stock or foam board so that no mounting surface is exposed. No matting, glass, or framing is allowed. And, the minimum print size is 5 x 7 inches,  maximum size is 11 x 14 inches, and non-standard sizes are acceptable. As far as bringing the photographs to the show, I pack them in my carry -on luggage. We look forward to many beautiful images being displayed at the World Show!
