Friends,
I wondered if these flowers we saw in the High Desert of Oregon could be like Spring Beauties we have in Ohio???

Also saw huge fields of blue/purple flowers which I thought might be Lupines?  Was raining so hard photo of them did not turn out. Also saw lots of beautiful fields of vegetables; including huge fields of onions!

In Jackson Wyoming a couple days ago we saw daffodils, lilacs just coming into flower, and lots of beautiful fruit trees and decorative flowering trees. Guess that makes my 6th spring this year!

The trees were all flowering in the little town in Oregon where we stayed last night as well. What a beautiful trip we are having; so much lovely scenery it is hard to
take it all in. Tonight we are in Bend, Oregon or rather south of it in a great State Park. In week four of our 11 week trip!!

  1. Phyllis,

I’m sure the blue color you were seeing was lupines.  They are everywhere, along the hiways when you go east of the Cascades.

In years past, going to see Schreiner’s Iris gardens has been a real treat, if just for all of the beautiful lupines they have planted as companion plants.  These are very tall spikes and of a rainbow of colors.
