Harold Koopowitz receives the Peter Barr Cup

On March 14th, Harold Koopowitz received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Peter Barr Memorial Cup for “good work” in connection with daffodils.

It must have been very special to Harold to have Jan Pennings make this presentation.

Congratulations Harold!

  1. Congratulations Harold, certainly well deserved! Thanks so much for all the work you have done in hybridizing new daffodils and promoting them worldwide.

  2. Congratulations, Harold!!  This is certainly a well-deserved honor!   And as Larry said, thanks for all you do to breed new daffodils, and promote and share them worldwide.

(Thanks, Steve, for letting us know about this.)

  3. Congratulations, Harold.  Your work has expired me and given me many ideas on my hybridizing.  The honor is well-deserved.

  4. I don’t who made this post under my name, but it wasn’t me. The pictures are mine, which I had previously shared on Facebook, but the text is not. It is not even accurate. The presentation was actually made by the President of RHS, Sir Nicholas Bacon. I asked Jan Pennings, head of the RHS Bulb Committee, to pose with Harold after he received the award, for this shot. I am happy this was posted on Daffnet as Harold certainly is worthy of this prestigious award (I’m obviously his number one fan!), but I would appreciate not having posts made under my name without my knowledge.

  5. Steve, I posted this message and had to do some magic to give you credit for the photos but forgot to make me as the author.  I was just too excited about Harold receiving this honor! My apologies!

    Again, congratulations Harold!

  6. You have done great things with daffodils. The award is justly made. Congratulations from Joy and Spud.

  7. CongratuIations to Harold – well deserved and overdue.
I did wonder why the President had not presented the Peter Barr Memorial Trophy as is usually the case for such an important and historic Trophy.
