Hi Daffnetters, We are having an exceptionally early spring in our area, and I think most of the North Island. The Poet, Div 9, classes at our early shows very seldom have any entries; indeed some schedules for early shows have no poet classes — they can be entered in the N O E sections. Often, the N. I. National, usually second weekend in September has no entries in the Div 9 collection class — requiring 9 blooms.Also the single bloom poet class may have only a single entry. I was talking to Wilfred Hall on the state of the season and early shows in our area, when he commented he had poet seedlings in bud. Visited on Saturday — two different seedlings out and plenty of buds.
In 40 years of growing daffs and 30 years of showing daffs , — I have NEVER seen Poets in August.
Where there any poets at the Northern Show ? ?.
