[Historicdaff] Historics judging question

If the new form would consistently defeat the old form, then in the judge’s  (possibly subconscious) opinion it is not the same.  In my opinion, it is NOT to be accepted as the original, since it is misnamed.
We have all been sold or given misnamed daffodils.

I would agree with Leone that if the daffodil in question is not genetically Mrs. R.O. Backhouse anymore, it shouldn’t be entered as such. But how is the judge to be sure that this is the case, as opposed to a true Mrs. R.O. Backhouse just having been grown in exceptional conditions with exceptional skill of the grower? Without a gene test, how can you be certain? Will great climate, soil, feeding, and weather conditions straighten out twisted petals? I know you can get more substance and size.
