I.D. old trumpet

I took this picture two days ago at Afton Villa, in St. Francisville, LA. This old garden, with the house it surrounded in ruins, is famous for its camellias and azaleas, but for two weeks at the beginning of March, you also get beautiful daffodils in their Daffodil Valley.

The brochure says, ‘Carlton’ and “Mt. Hood” and ‘Delibes’ and ‘Yellow Sun.’ But we found others, inclulding ‘Thalia’ and ‘Silver Chimes’ and another pure white.

How, what might this be?

This is not an old planting, but is obviously renewed frequently but with appropriate daffodils. I need to find out more about this. (as there is no house, there are onlyl a pair of gate-keepers taking your $5.00.

‘Unsurpasable’? The true ‘King Alfred”? somethng other than either?
