Livermore Show fun

Last weekend was the Northern California Daffodil Society’s 45th Annual Bay Area Show. This show is co-hosted by Alden Lane Nursery and the nursery always has bright yellow signs throughout the nursery guiding people to the daffodil show.  However, this year Alden Lane used some unusual signage – see below!

These bovines did a good job as we had many visitors, especially when Bob Spotts led a tour of the show for the public.

Show Onlookers Marilynn Howe, Jan Moyers, Harold Koopowitz and Steve Hampson.

It is always special to have our Southern California friends drive 7 to 8 hours up Interstate 5 to bring their flowers and help judge the show!  On the left, Marilynn Howe, Jan Moyers (Bay Area) and on the right Harold Koopowitz and Steve Hampson. On the far right is Kirby Fong (Bay Area).  Karen Muir was helping at the Hospitality Table. Thank you all.

Harold gave me a lovely bouquet of almost two dozen “extra” miniatures that he DID NOT put into the show! There were almost 100 “extra” miniatures left on the staging table. He and Marilynn must have staged hundreds! The public’s reaction is normally, “I did not know daffodils can be this small!”  My photos do not do these blooms justice.

  2. What clever signs, and how nice to have a venue that is so supportive of the show!!

The vase of minis is spectacular!  What wonderful form and color Harold is getting into miniatures.  Thanks for sharing the photos.
