New green seedling

I am sure that the parentage that I have down for this seedling is incorrect. It is supposed to be an Emerald Sea Seedling ‘Large’ x (Gloriosum x N. elegans). I would have expected a white perianth as both parents have white tepals. The cross was made in 2008. This is the first of the seedlings to flower. My notes say 22 seed were collected but I seem to have 24 plants in the row. Many buds are growing and from the looks of them they are all going to be all greens. This has flowers that are 67 mm in diameter and is quite flat and holds itself well.

  1. An exciting and very nice bloom Harold. I look foward to seeing some of the others. Looks like you are taking green daffodils to another level. The improvements you made to miniatus were spectacular also. Congratulations!

  2. Hi Harold,

It looks fertile. You don’t say what the pedigree of the Emerald Sea seedling is but if this is (Emerald Sea selfed) selfed I wouldn’t be surprised.

My guess is that one of the green perianthed flowers is involved. Normally Emerald Sea selfed only gives white perianths. This one shows no sign of fading which is also an Emerald Sea characteristic for the perianth. Also it is so much larger than usual. Of course anything is possible.
