It is with a very heavy heart that I report the passing of long-time member Mary Koonce. Her son Leigh was by her side last evening when she lost her battle with cancer. A memorial service will take place in about a month, and we will let everyone know the details when they are made available. Please keep Leigh, and Mary’s husband, Stafford in your prayers. Mary will be missed by the WDS and it’s members. Her contributions over the years were many. Mary served as our President, Show Chair, Membership Chair, Judging school Chair, and of course our Bulb Order Chair for many years. Her knowledge of cultivars from around the world was second to none.
