The Tom D. Throckmorton Daffodil Data Bank

At the Fall Board Meeting of the American Daffodil Society, the decision was made for ADS to discontinue the printing of The Tom D. Throckmorton Daffodil Data Bank.  The number of these printed annually had dropped to such a low number that it was not an effective use of time to edit and print such a large print publication in such a small number.

For access to daffodil information for judging shows or for hybridizing, the ADS designated daffodil database, Daffseek, http://daffseek.org/ is a good source for those with online access.  Another alternative is the RHS International Daffodil Register and Classified List . The Register and Classified List is periodically printed in full and is followed by annual Supplements that anyone can purchase or can download for free; however, according to the RHS website, the latest printing of the Register and Classified List is currently out of stock.

The latest Supplements are available for £5 each at http://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/RHS-Publications/Plant-registers/Daffodils or can be downloaded, free of charge, from the RHS website at http://daffodilusa.com/services/webs.html#International.

  1. Thank you, Michael.  Do you know what year the next full edition of the RHS Daffodil Register and Classified List will be issued?
