My talented plantsman friend, the late Dr. Frank Galyon sent me a bulb of a very, very tiny form of N. fernandesii. I used every scrap of pollen and set seed on it once after which, it promptly died. This is a cross of a Miniature white seedling of mine as the seed parent “set” with the pollen from the micro N. fernandesii. Flower diameter is a tiny 21mm (.82″) and 17mm (.66″) respectively. Has had three tiny flowers to a stem. There is a clearly evident white band at the trumpet base and the color is a soft, pastel, sulphur yellow. Different, distinct, and tiny. There are NO reverse bicolors in its parentage.
This is a Div. 12. From a cross of Rod Barwicks lovely ‘Snook’ which I crossed with N. cyclamineus. One of the resulting seedlings was pollinated with N. fernandesii. This little jewel was Selected from the seedlings that resulted.
The Div 12 is rather nice Steve
