Wichita KS show cancelled

I received the following email from Ray Morrissette this morning about the Wichita KS show.  Weather continues to be a significant challenge this year, but Wichita is going to do their best to make lemonade out of their lemons.

“Wanted to keep you up to date concerning the Wichita Daffodil Society Show.  The club met yesterday morning and we decided as a group NOT TO HAVE A JUDGED SHOW THIS YEAR.  All of us are at peak bloom with two weeks to go before the show.  In addition,, about half of our members experienced a considerable amount of pea size hail Friday night.  Instead of a judged show we are going to bring what blooms we have, if any, and try to stage an exhibition with any remaining blooms available on 9 April 2017.  This way we keep the beauty of daffodils in the public eye without the stress of trying to stage a judged show with what is likely to be a very small number of blooms.  We are all very disappointed we won’t be able to stage a judged show but springing  Kansas is several weeks early this year.”
