Lily Ronalds photo

Keith & Everyone,

Your photo of LILY RONALDS caught my eye, it is a lovely ‘historic’ daffodil.  I wanted a little more information about it so I checked Daffseek and they don’t have a picture of it there.

Just a plea to everyone: We all need to make a special effort to take pictures of all our daffodils this year and add them to Daffseek.  There are thousands of wonderful pictures there already, but if each of us make a special effort we can add thousands more this year.  I know that I will!

Thank you for your ‘plea’ for DaffSeek photos, Mary.  We appreciate yours and other photographers’ annual contribution of photographs to DaffSeek.

Ben ran a few stats to give everyone an idea of the photo coverage in DaffSeek.  Currently there is information for a little over 18,000 named daffodils, and even though there are over 14,000 photos, only 6,000 daffodils have photographs.  It sounds amazing that there are about 12,000 ‘photo-less’ daffodil records!

To help, attached is a PDF document with the 2,500 pre-1940 daffodils that need photos.  Granted, the ‘ancient ones’ are listed here, but it would be wonderful to have photos of as many of these Historics as possible.  This list is sequenced by country, breeder, flower name.

If you would like a special list of photo-less daffodils in DaffSeek, please contact me privately and I’ll be glad to send you a customized list.

Thank you all for your support to make DaffSeek as complete as possible.

    Ben and Nancy
