Daffodil showtime Woe is me

Keith Kridler Mt. Pleasant, Texas Well you can sure tell it is daffodil show season! Rod Armstrong is 130 miles due west of Sandy and I and I wondered WHY he was out gathering blooms a week early for our show…..
Seems he had watched the weather forecast as yesterday I woke up and we were under FOUR different weather alerts. 1 st was Severe thunderstorms with hail but we only got and inch of rain in about 25 minutes then a total of 2″ (5CM) in three hours. 2nd was severe winds that maxed out at 55 Miles per hour. 3rd was a flood watch that put our bottom flowers under water in the lower fields and washed some of the newly planted bulbs out of the ground where we planted on slopes….It is amazing how many roots form on daffodils in a just two weeks! 4th was a freeze snow warning. Seems to be pretty green out there still as our ground temperatures were pretty warm but I see all our neighbors roofs are white with sleet and snow.
Anyway it looks like Rod might be a little bit ahead of me now if he got his blooms picked before the storm ripped through his area. Another freeze predicted for tonight.
