The (Mini Gold ribbon) Best mini in show was a very difficult decision which seems to be common in the shows this year. For a SWODS first, we decided to award a special award to the flower that was just about as worthy of the best in show award but some very slight attribute kept it behind the choice for mini Gold. Other societies around the world have been involved in this practice for many years and I think it’s a great idea. It gives the exhibitor a great sense of accomplishment as well as recognition that is well deserved and would otherwise be lost.
