World Daffodil Tour – Van Der Veek Field

On our second day, we started with a visit to Carols van der Veek’s field. He maintains a collection started by his father that duplicates (as a back up) the collection at the Hortus Bulborum. I was able to stay there all morning to photograph daffodils and then rejoin the tour group at lunch time. What’s important about this field and the Hortus Bulborum is that the cultivars are well labeled so that we have confidence that my photos are correctly identified. In this picture we see part of the historic collection in the distance. There are more in the field behind me.
