correcting cyclamineus hybrids

Inspired by Mary Lou’s posting of the correction of hyacinth posture, I offer the attached photos of reflex correction on cyclamineus hybrids, from the RHS show in London.

Friends,
Did you ever wonder how to keep your hyacinths standing up straight, like they do at Keukenhof?

Here’s how they do it. :-)

  1. Melissa and all,

This looks like Terry Braithwaite’s technique to keep her cyclamineus from looking up towards the light.  When Ben saw her collection, he jumped about 18 inches off the floor as believed these flowers were being seriously mistreated (if memory serves…he used the term bondage!).  Terry kindly told us what she was doing and all nerves were immediately calmed. :-)

Thank you for sharing this photo Melissa and thank you Terry for the patient explanation.
