Here’s to good friends

This is the WDS gang at the Pie Eater’s Show right after judging on Saturday.  We are toasting our friends in Tower Hill who shared the show date, (They promised to do the same to us.)  and also toasting Ian Tyler and our sister Pie Eater’s gang in Wigan, England.

Actually we started judging when Spencer went to pick up the pizza for lunch and stopped to eat when he got back.  We had a good meal together and listened to Dorothy Sensibaugh’s and Kathy Welsh’s tales of the World Tour.  They both reported having a wonderful time.

We finished up the judging after we had eaten and I managed to get everyone away from the table.  I decided to just take the tray of brownies to the head table so it would be “handy.”  (Note to show chairman:  This works if you want something to keep their attention during final judging.  People rarely walk away from chocolate.)

Several people came to exhibit but were unable to stay for one reason or another, not the least of which was a horse race.  Bloom count was down from last year—-a choice Mother Nature makes without asking us, but the fun level remained the same.  Isn’t that the point?  We also talked Linda Smith into taking the leap from single stem entries only to trying for a collection ribbon.  And was she glad in the end.  She won the Red White and Blue!
