Hi  Daffnetters ,
  Another for Daffseek.

  Kapiti  Kauri  8Y – Y

Correct Breeding  is  Toorak  Gold  x  Sol D,Or  O P  sdlg

The New  Zealand Kauri  [ Agathis  australis ] is one of our special native trees.
With very tall , straight trunks , it was much valued by early visitors and settlers for use as ships spars and masts.
Predominantly a tree of northern N Z , its numbers were greatly reduced until the few forest blocks left were given protection.

Kapiti Kauri has a very strong , tall , stem also almost suitable for model ship spars , hence the name.
Kauri gum ,adeep , golden yellowsap from the tree was also a sort-after product, the older fossilised lumps being most valued.
