Triple Pink

It’s summertime and hot here in Livermore, California; however, a few daffodils that I’m turning around from Australia and New Zealand are in bloom. The attachment shows Triple Pink, a new introduction by Peter Ramsay. I don’t know whether the pink in the photo is representative or would be deeper in a normal winter, but the perianth is quite flat, so I thought I’d share this picture.

  1. Hi All,
Yes, it is a deeper pink here. It draws its name from its breeding which involved three of the best pinks around – Vahu, Dailmanach and Kathryn Mae bred by Jackson, Lea and Hamilton. It has been registered this year so Nancy and Ben might like to save the picture for Daffseek.
Funny season here – NZ has been battered by a dreadful storm – shifted the poles on our windbreak about a foot – first time that has ever happened. Looking at the daffs I sometimes think they are late, then early, then late again! We will have a lot of flowers in a couple of weeks which is rare for us.
All the best to everyone – we are booked for Chicago so will see our American friends there and hopefully some others.
    All the best,

  2. Really nice looking flower, Peter! Thanks, Kirby, for posting it. Mary Lou
