Fall daffodil event in Nashville!

Don’t miss a great ADS event happening in Nashville this fall, October 31 – Nov. 2.  All ADS members and their guests are invited.

At the Friday night dinner , costumes based on daffodils names will be optional.  (It’s Halloween!)  There will be prizes for the best and most creative costumes!  After dinner don’t miss the bulb auction.

On Saturday, Harold Koopowitz will lead a Miniatures Symposium with miniature expert growers and hybridizers from many parts of the US and  Lawrence Trevanion from New Zealand.

Lawrence will be our dinner speaker on Saturday  night and will enlighten us about miniature daffodils Down Under.

Harold will bring a selection of his fall blooming daffodils from California.  Live daffodils to see and sniff!

Sunday offers a tour of Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and Museum of Art.

Visit the link below for more information.  Please make your hotel reservations ASAP and note the deadlines for registration.

My advice is to make your hotel reservations NOW!  We don’t have a large block of rooms reserved and you can always cancel the rooms with no penalty closer to the date if you find you can’t attend.  The conference registration deadline is October 1, but we’d appreciate any of you who could go ahead and send that in ASAP as well to help with advance planning.

This is usually a good time of year in middle Tennessee for fall colors, flights are usually reasonable into Nashville International Airport, and there are lots of other nature and cultural things to see here, so…
I hope to see y’all this fall!

  1. Yikes! My apologies! I am not sure how the mistake crept into my notes, but Lawrence Trevanion is from Camberra, Australia, not New Zealand!

  2. One more thing Harold reminded me of…the Miniatures Symposium will count as a Judges Refresher Course, so don’t forget to sign up for it and include your $3 if you are a daffodil judge in need of the credit. One of the requirements for Maintaining Accreditation as an ADS Judge is to attend a refresher course, audit at least one hour of Judging School I, II, or III, or serve as an instructor at Judging School I, II, or III at least every three years.

  3. Becky,
Talking about Judges. When do we get notification of our accreditation for attending the judges refresher in Richmond, VA this spring of 2008?
