first daffodils

Hello Everyone, thought I would cheer you up with the photo of my first daffodil pick of the season.  I love the tazettas for picking, the ones at the top are a healthy form of Soleil d’or, (not marvellous specimens as the frost had broken their stems) the paler and smaller form underneath are the one I call ‘Fertile Soleil d’or type’.  It is very floriferous and flowers on a much shorter stem than the true Soleil d’or.  This is an advantage at this time of the year as the frost doesn’t bend the stems as it does with the much taller true Soleil d’or.
Have enjoyed seeing the cut flower varieties of John McLennan, also Wilf Hall’s Seedlings.  Thanks, John.

Regards to all,

Denise.
