Hi Daffnetters
for those NZ’rs who live in the Lower North Island & are thinking of taking the Ferry across to Hope for the National show, the following information may be of use.
Both The Interislander and the Bluebridge Companies have special spring deals available for September/October bookings providing you book through the Internet. Look up the website. It’s costing us $374.00 total for two of us both ways + car. This is using the Bluebridge ferry which we prefer (more egalitarian and fractionally cheaper than the InterIslander). We’ll arrive in Hope at about 8.00pm Friday night but there are earlier sailings. This is the first weekend of the school holidays.
After the show, (Sunday night + ) George & I will be staying at a friend’s bach (basic holiday home) near Anakiwa, Picton, Queen Charlotte Sounds until 2nd of October. If any one wishes to join us, contact me privately. It’s self contained so we only need to take food.
The news has just announced Snow on the coast road at Paekakariki (Between Wellington & Otaki) so it’s still very stormy here.
