parent/child class

Interesting ideas, all, from Becky and Mike. Becky’s idea of making grandparents and great-grandparents (and great-great and …?) eligible I think would make it considerably easier to enter this class, but would also make it possible to meet a different division/class type of criterion, thus perhaps leading to more interesting exhibits. One drawback, albeit a minor one, might be the necessity of keeping records of ancestry going back two generations or more. But I’m sure there are some of us who love to do stuff like that! Mike’s comment on the successful Minnesota experience, with narratives accompanying an exhibit, suggests all sorts of possibilities for expansion of the number and kinds of educational classes /exhibits in a show. Certainly we need to appeal to and get the interest of not just those of us with chronic yellow fever.
