THe North Island market growers are probbly through the mid season flush of Malvern City 1Y Y, the most widely grown daff in N Z
It,s a tall, strong all yellow that open well from bud and is currently flooding the markets .
It has been used extensively by many breedersafter early flowering seedlings.
John Hunter has several good selections from M C and sent me an unselected line from–
Kings Ransom x Malvern City. 2 of 4 that I am growing on, both much smoother than M C but equally as tall.
I have seen many M C sdlgs and it,s unusual to get rid of the big bold ,flange and roll.
