Jaydee–

Unfortunately I’ve just about finished my paper, so any information that people might offer will probably not be included! However, I think it would be super interesting to post anyway and see what people have to say! If you do end up posting, please direct me to where I can read people’s comments– I think this has potential to be very interesting!

Thanks,

Arielle

I am located in New York– don’t see many daffodils here I’m afraid!

wishing to answer your questions to respond to you direct.  It would be
helpful if the respondents knew where you live, no address, just something
general like New England, Pacific Northwest, Northern Ireland, etc.

Subject: the daffodil today

Hello there at the ADS!

My name is Arielle Edelman and I’m a senior in high school writing a
paper about daffodils and their change in image over History (quite a
strange, yet incredibly intriguing topic!). I’ve been reading about
medicinal uses for daffodils in the early 20th and late 19th
centuries, and am wondering why they’re used today almost solely for
beautification of the garden. Do you have any thoughts on why this
might be? What do you think the daffodil represents in society today,
and why do people seem to be so drawn to this flower?

Thanks so much for you time, I truly appreciate your help and expertise!
