Flowering before planting

All,
I was planting miniatures to-day between the showers. This little guy popped out amongst the seedling bulbs – in a real hurry to flower. Several others had buds showing. Late planting, because of the awful weather we’ve been having provides its surprises. The N. bulbocodium parent was one of the autumn/winter flowering kinds from Morocco. I’ve been crossing them with N. hedraeanthus to try and shorten the stems and get flowers that they will stand up without staking in our ‘low light’ climate.
