The flowering time of N.cavanillesii ist nearly over in the region of Conil de la Frontera. It flowers a little earlier then N. viridiflorus and N. miniatus, so I had some problems to get enough pollen for hybridising. I shall try it on Hillstar. Do
the hybridizers on Daffnet think there is a chance for getting seeds from this cross or crosses with standard daffodils?
When I remember right, the special fragrance of N. cavanillesii is similar to this of  N. romieuxii mesatlanticus. This would support the opinion of Ben Zonneveld, that one ancient parent of cavanillesii could be a member of the bulbocodium section (the other could be N. assoanus).
