A little more daffodil public relations.

Our local Chamber of Commerce decided to put out a calendar this year and distribute it free to everyone in the Village and Township.
They asked for photo donations and, I guess, didn’t get anything suitable for April, for which they wanted one of Granville’s long-time daffodil show (not judged).  Someone approached me so see what I might have and to my surprize, my photo of recurvus was chosen.  Not of the show, but indeed a daffodil, growing in Granville.
Makes for an interesting mix with the other months being scenes of town and college, the high school baseball team etc.
Although everything is ice and snow covered today, most businesses are open here, although every school is closed and we were fortunate to be more on the snow side of things then was Cincinnati.  Mary Lou — I don’t envy your ice!

  1. Drew,
How nice that your photo is included in the calendar!  All right!!

The ice is causing a mess all right.  First we had about 4 inches of snow, then freezing rain, then another 4 inches of snow.  There’s about an inch of ice between the two layers of snow.  Fortunately for me, one of my good neighbors, with a snow blower, takes care of my driveway.  But even with the snow blower, it took several hours to get through the ice.

Mary Lou got off easy! We lost electrical power for two days. I think my bedroom was in the mid-40s last night. It took three trucks, but we got power restored this afternoon. I have not been our to check whether the daffodils are emerging (under at least 5 inches of snow, but when walking the dogs down the lane the sounds of tree branches breaking and falling to the ground were alarming.
