Chinese shui xian hua

I have quite a few off-sets from the Chinese sacred lily, shui xian hua, narcissus tazetta Chinensis or Ruen I import and sell.
They will grow and naturalize in the climate of Zhangzhou, Fujian, China, comparable to most of zones 9 and 10 in the US, I think.
For that reason I can’t plant them here in southeast Ohio.
Please let me know if you would like me to send these bulbs to you free of charge.
For more information on the bulbs themselves, you can go to http://www.chineseshuixianhua.com/shui%20xian%20hua%20information.html

  1. We are in the northeast corner of Texas right on the edge of 7-B/8-A or in the 5*F<15*F (-15*C<-10*C).

IF you plant them right next to a south facing brick wall in this area and mulch them heavily we can get them to bloom and most of them to return from year to year. We do have to cover them with plastic sheets some years when we get down into the teens, then rush out at dawn to uncover them before they cook if the sun is going to pop out.

Several years ago I lost 50 or 60 clumps when they froze while we were away on a trip. A couple of weeks ago I had several clumps in full bloom and they have such a sweet fragrance they are well worth the trouble of moving them in and out if you have to or protecting them somewhat. I think the zone 9 would be really safe to have them in the yard unprotected. I only have 40 feet of south facing brick wall on our garage that I keep filled up with the more tender plants.
