I’ve sent e-mails to Australia and got no response. I checked Google and found that the fires seemed to be NE of Melbourne whereas most of our daffodil friends reside NW of the city.
I’ve just had a nice long telephone conversation with Fred Silcock who is fine, his area and the areas where his daffodil friends live are still free of fires but high temperatures and the tinder dry conditions leave them all a bit nervous.
I told Fred of the Daffnet messages and he was grateful for concern shown and sends greetings to all his friends and acquaintances on Daffnet.
Fred is not yet ready to distribute any of his beautiful seedlings but he has reduced crosses to just under 10,000 seeds this season!!!!
