Last year about this time we had the photo contest with the Vulture pictures. Gladewater Texas is the home of Mrs. Lee’s Daffodil Gardens. There is a website telling about her daffodils. Anyway I thought it would be pretty cool for some of you all from around the country and around the world to drop them a short e-mail @ title= letting them know you watched their news program from where ever you are located:-)) You might want to ask them about daffodils while you are at it:-)) I gave the lady reporter a vase filled with daffodils when I left but that did not make the news clip. They were mostly Tazzeta’s and Jonquils so she might have HATED the scent. This TV station is from Tyler Texas and to those new to the list the Smith County Master Gardeners there in Tyler have one of the largest one day daffodil sales each fall. These bulb sales are phenomenal.
I challenge all of you to get a daffodil program and get out there and share Yellow Fever with various groups. I have five daffodil programs scheduled in the next month for various Master Gardener groups and last month I gave the daffodil program to a local photography group. We will host the photographers here in our fields over the next two months for a photo competition. The top 13 photos will be donated to a local cancer group to be used on a calendar for them to sell to help pay for cancer tests for people who cannot afford the costs of testing. Keith Kridler

Keith. I was interested to see the birds referred to as cauldrons and squadrons instead of abracadavers. Sincerely, an old buzzard from Minnesota, Denis Dailey

    Daffnetters,
Keith must have a little camera located out here in California, because it is our busy time for daffodil presentations here too. Bob Spotts can attest to this and he frequently takes cut blooms and pots of daffodils to his talks. Those of you who have heard Bob speak know there is always an element of fun that comes with his information.
Keith talked about Mrs. Lee’s gardens in Texas and for those of you who are interested, here is the link to Mrs. Lee’s website: http://www.daffodilgarden.com/
