1st (non daffodil) Bloom of 2009

It’s such a nice day today in southwest Ohio that I thought I’d look around some local parks to see what might be in bloom. We found some winter Aconite, Snowdrops & Crocus yawning in the morning Sun early this morning. Then, going back home, I was delighted to see my own crocus waking up. The photo of this crocus is attached. I really like these because of the wonderful wisps of dark color on the outside of the petals that contrast with the orange pistil.
Spring has arrived in my neighborhood !

  1. Beautiful crocus Tom!  What is the little darlings name?  I am slowly adding more crocus to my garden and that is one that NEEDS to grow here.

  2. Can anyone ID this crocus for Mary? It’s been so long since I planted these, I didn’t keep track of the names at the time.
