Preen – active ingredient – Trifluralin

To Michael, John and All,

Quite a lot of heat has been generated about this chemical.
The link provides technical info, too much, but the bit on its use may be of interest.

I note from reading elsewhere that it can persist in soil for months, breaking down most readily near the surface.
I suggest that forking over soil would move it deeper where it could persist longer and be taken up by bulbs, which would be delayed until the next growth period.

Note: lots of stuff on this chemical being taken out of use.
