Guess by looking at the color of the weeds in front of this row of Golden Dawn where I spilled some nitrogen outside of the row. Again, basically with no nitrogen in the soil by the time the foliage was about 1&1/2″ high had I not added some fertilizer to these rows we would have had far fewer blooms.
In the last couple of photos if you look in the background through the trees you would see the green from our lower fields with daffodils. In these areas the soil PH was 7 according to the soil tests.
