a photographer

Mary Lou Gripshover had planned to take a picture of me taking pictures of daffodils at the Glencoe show but didn’t happen to come into the show room when I was at work. To make up for it, I’ve staged this picture of myself at home this morning. My season has basically ended, so I was lucky to find even a single daffodil. It’s from a secondary stem of Stratosphere. The gadget just above the camera is a LitePanel. It’s a battery operated light. At the Glencoe show I was using it to fill the shadows cast by the natural light that was coming almost horizontally from the left through the glass doors. And that’s a spare camera on the tripod; obviously I couldn’t use it to take this picture!

  2. Thanks for posting this photo, Kirby! Now we have some idea of how you work at your photography. Does your LitePanel work as a “slave light” and is it daylight balanced? Whatever it is, you get great photos. Thanks for all your hard work. Mary Lou
