All references to the N. pachybolbus brought to England in the years following 1875 (Burbridge & Baker, p. xv and Curtis) indicate that the bulbs came from Algeria. According to the Curtis reference they are definitely not hardy in England. Sounds as though the bulbs from Cyprus might be something else.
