Season in USA

All,
I have enjoyed the pictureds of winners of major classes from California to Ohio as posted by Kirby Fong and Tom Stettner and others. It would seem that there are many excellent exhibitors around these days and the standard and colour of flowers seems to be better than ever in the USA.  Either it has been a great year for colour and smoothness or the photographers have discovered a way to camoflage faults, however minor, or to enhance flowers?  Congratulations to all exhibitors and photographers  – at home Ian Scroggy is hot on the heels of Kirby and Tom, his pics. have improved a lot too.

  1. Hi Brian –

I can’t speak for the entire USA but here in Cincinnati we have had a damp, grey spring.
Maybe 4 sunny, warm days for the last 6 weeks?
We have enjoyed amazing color in our daffodils, not just the yellow / orange/ red’s but in the pinks also.

The photographers have been doing a great job though !

  2. I meant to post this note along with the couple of photos — that we’ve had really good color here in TN, though frequent thunderstorms with wind and hail has battered a lot of blooms, too. It rained almost all day yesterday. I have some flowers in the fridge for Chicago and hope some of them will survive the trip!
