“legal” name for entry card at show

What is the proper way to enter Artwork # 16 and its sibling Artwork # 5? They are siblings to Work of Art, also from Sid DuBose (Cordial x Canby) x n. jonquilla.
One suggestion I got was to write, e.g., DuBose Artwork # 5, as a seedling (though #5 is not DuBose’s seedling number).
Another was: DuBose seedling Artwork # 16, adding the cross information
Another suggestion was that Artwork # 5 has been named: Art Nouveau.
Help! I’d rather judges didn’t have to spend time with this issue.

  1. Hi Alice, My understanding of these Dubose seedlings is that Sid referred to all of them, collectively, as the “Artwork series.” ‘Work of Art’ was the first one named, while Sid was still alive. This was followed by ‘Art Nouveau’. The “Artwork” bulbs were sent to Steve Vinisky, and several have been selected, possibly for naming in the future. The Washington Daffodil Society sold “Artwork #16” last year. It is in the ADS Databank and in DaffSeek. You also mention an “Artwork #5” and I think there’s an “Artwork #12.” I think if you enter them in a show as “Dubose Artwork #12”, or 5 or 16 or whatever the number, then that should be acceptable identification.
