One of the visitors to the convention show last weekend said her daffodils grew much better in the grass than they did in her garden, and she asked why that would be. I had no answer, but told her I would try to find out. So, does anyone have any answers I can forward to her?

I seem to remember, many years ago, Helen Link commenting that many varieties grew better once she naturalized them in the grass (was it in an orchard?) than they ever had in her formal beds. Does anyone from Indiana remember anything about this?
