Glyphosate – not Glysophate ! – N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, C3H8NO5P – It is active only on growing points of the plants to which it is translocated from any organ it gets into contact with, especially of course the growing leaves. Translocation from weed root tips to growing roots of daffodils might happen in early stages of daffodil rooting in extremely heavily infested daffodil beds. It is however improbable when the foliage of daffodils has just died down. I have never observed problems with applications of Glyphosate when no direct contact of the herbicide solution occured with tissue of Narcissus plants.
