The late David Bell was a prominent Canterbury hybridist , a leader in yellow — pink flowers and
also a range of strong yellow trumpets .
He produced an attractive catalogue until his death in the mid eighties .
David was also a great benefactor of our Society and is remembered by our David Bell Awards ,
for service to the society and for excellence in daffodil breeding .
Matangi is Maori for breeze ; it is the suburb of Hamilton where the Ramsays live .
