New Zealand Daffodil Annual

Hello Everyone.

The NDSNZ Daffodil Annual was posted out to members yesterday- thank goodness!!

It has the usual combination of articles beginning with two tributes – one to a great NZ Breeder of the past – Jim O’More and the other to the famous British Raiser John Lea.  There is a symposium on digging and storing daffs from four top exhibitors, including one on natural control methods for basal rot by John McLennan.  A section on daffodil breeding is led off by Colin Crotty on his dream cross which produced Omeomy, Pleasant Valley, Linedance and a host of others.  There is a section on green cupped daffs, and successful 1WP’s the latter penned by Trevor Rollinson.  The ADS Conference is covered especially the wonderful trip to Oakwood Daffodils.  There are 12 pages of full colour photos in the 88 page volume.

So, if you are not a member of the NDSNZ how do you get this and the Society’s two other publications?  Easy – send a cheque to our Treasurer Mr Kevin Kerr, 12 Chartwell Place, Richmond, Nelson, New Zealand for the equivalent of $30.00NZ and the Annual will wing its way to you at short notice.

 Cheers,

 Peter Ramsay
