1. First flower

Hi Brian, I did 100’s of paperwhite x bulbocodium crosses – plenty of seed as is the way with paperwhites but nothing true. Coincidentally I have repeated the bulbo. x tazetta cross this year because of my interest in bulbo. fertility, using the oddest tazettas I could find – supposed paperwhite x dubius etc. Have just done a quick check and noted a lot of failures which is impressive because it suggests I managed to get to the stigma and cover it in pollen first. I’ve been using a magnifying glass to check the stigmas before I pollinate. There may be a few successes. I recall Bill Welch saying he has good tazetta bulbocodium hybrids. Hope to have a good look at the Canberra show today but not sure how or when. I noticed some nice minis and standards – not mine unfortunately. Lawrence
